Plenary: Teachers or Educators?
Projects can give learners the scope to develop at many different levels. In this plenary I will use practical examples from successful projects which we have developed with teenagers of different ages and levels and how they can help to develop 21st Century skills for life. When students are engaged and are able to self-manage projects which are relevant to them now and to their future, the outcomes can be totally unexpected and, dare I say it, awesome. The results are a highly motivated teaching team and an enthusiastic group of learners. Rapport and trust is heightened and the English they learn and practice is the icing on the cake.
