- sit in classrooms with traditional English lessons
- be criticised or judged negatively
- "follow" teachers and their lessons
- wait for your learning to happen by doing endless exercises
- have tests
- be in the same group every day

- speak, speak, speak and speak more
- be responsible for creating your learning
- focus your attention fully on yourself and your learning
- be part of a team of people dedicated to success
- be challenged, encouraged and empowered
- continually change groups and focus on your goals
